What exactly is ‘Communication Coaching”?
Communication coaching is a relatively new term. It combines the needs-assessment and goal-setting strategies of Life coaching with the communicative approach of corporate and classroom training. The term ‘Communication coaching’ covers one-to-one coaching and group interactive workshops.
Does it work? How do I know?
Yes it really works…and quickly! You will know right from the first assessment or first coaching session that you are getting the apex of current communication training theories and concepts, explained to you in a simplified, easy-to-use formula. As a coach and trainer we take the pool of communication training information and funnel it into these formulas, and we then run interactive exercises to allow you to incorporate the communication skills into your daily personal and professional life. If you are not satisfied just let us know and you can have a full refund.
Who hires a Communication Coach/Trainer? Is it for non-native English speakers only?
It is for anyone who wishes to dramatically increase their communication skills to the top 10% of the world’s most successful people. Many of our clients are people who use ESL (English as a Second Language) like immigrants, ESL students and overseas companies. Our coaches are certified TESL teachers with over 10 years teaching here and abroad. However there are many native English speakers who hire us to improve their interpersonal and professional communications. We have been hired by lawyers, social workers, entrepreneurs, government workers, managers, accountants, engineers, I.T. consultants, personal trainers and other coaches! What are the benefits for a person or company hiring a coach?

Where does coaching take place?
Most often the coaching or training takes place at your choice of venue, whether that is your place of business or even residence. Some programs can be run in a coffee shop if there is no personal information being shared. However 3V Communications does organize and run public workshops and training courses which all are welcome to attend.
Alternatively some people wish to be coached via phone or skype, as they are not in the Toronto area, or are not interested in face-to-face coaching. Phone coaching is also available as an add-on to face-to-face coaching.
How long do I need to be coached for?
We need to do an assessment first, naturally, to find out where you are, what you are in need of, what you want and within what time frame. Generally speaking shorter, more intensive schedules work best initially, with regular monitoring follow-ups scheduled for later on. Some people wish to just take an intensive 1 or 2 day workshop; others want to be coached over 3,6,9 or 12 months. We will find a weekly/monthly schedule, according to your needs. Generally speaking you should either be doing an intensive workshop or signing on for at least 10 sessions to get the full benefit of coaching, so you can integrate the concepts, and have a chance to discuss progress regularly.
What are the rates?
An hourly rate is going to be higher than a monthly or package rate. Some people only want a few sessions and so choose an hourly rate. No problem. However if you are thinking that you would benefit from a coaching relationship over a period of months, then please say so and we can look at monthly rates or a bulk payment.
Generally, here are the rates:
Between $100-$150 per hour for private or small group coaching, and
between $400-3000 per corporate training workshop, and
between $1500-$3000 per keynote speaking address.
(Buying in bulk and paying in advance allow you to save some money.)
Non-profit organizations: flat rate of $100/hour group training and $50/hr individual coaching.
Students with valid ID cards receive a substantial discount of 50% off any coaching/training, with some exceptions applying to public workshops. If interested in attending a public workshop please ask us if a student discount is available before registering. It never hurts to ask!

How do I become a Communication Coach?
There are organizations that can certify you as a life coach, NLP coach, HR professional, etc. however currently there are maybe a couple organizations that we know of that say they can certify you as a communication coach, or a similar title. If you think you have the background and interest in being certified as a communication coach by 3V Communications, we do provide that service. You will need to train under our system, learn our courses and philosophies etc. and be assessed. At the end of training you will be certified and have a ton of material and knowledge that you can use to either work with us or completely independent of us. The choice is yours.
